The First Meeting of the Red-Turner Botanical Artists

On October 29, 2005, Derek Norman convened the meeting.

Organization of the Circle

It was agreed to create a more formal organization with an executive board and a website.

Changes and Growth

This was the year the name became Reed-Turner Woodland Botanical Artists and a herbarium of Reed-Turner Woodland plants began.

Major Undertaking

The executive board submitted forms to hosting ASBA Meeting and Conference 2012 in Chicago, Illinois.

Active in the Community and Celebration

Community outreach was publicized in Herald newspaper. The ASBA accepted the proposal to hold the ASBA Meeting and Conference in Chicago, Illinois.

Moving Forward with a Mission Statement

Organization of the group continues with the creation of a Mission Statement with the input of committee members.

Pandemic!

In their 15th year anniversary, the executive board and committees brought the membership through the pandemic with wonderful programs and workshops through the use of Zoom technology.

Creation of New ByLaws

Along with a Mission Statement, the executive committees creates more extensive by-laws.

Celebration of 20 Years Supporting Botanical Art and Artists!

With the success of members’ artwork nationally in ASBA juried shows and Hunt Institute, articles in ASBA The Botanical Artist magazine and book publications, Reed-Turner Botanical Artist have made great strides in their 20 years.
